WALKING ON THE RIGHT TRACK

Everybody aspires to walk on the right track, whether during the spiritual or physical journey to a particular destination. Many often pray for God's guidance besides striving to get to the right track and walk on it so as not to be misleading.

There is an established demarcation between the lawful and unlawful, which an average, mature, and conscious person is expected not to trespass (Hudud). As long as the boundary limits are respected, tranquility and peace shall reign supreme.

To avoid distractions, consider the driving system ordained by God, which evaluates every human on earth based on five criteria:

1. Compulsory (Wajib)

2. Desirable but not compulsory (Mustahab)

3. Forbidden (Haram)

4. Dislike but not forbidden (Makruh)

5. Lawful/allowed (Halal)

A spiritual journey involves getting and moving closer to Allah by performing the obligatory first and observing the limits. The Prophet (SAWA) said, "My servant does not draw near to me with anything more beloved to me than the obligatory duties I have imposed upon him."

One should always keep in mind:

1. See himself as a guest in this transitional world

2. Make adequate arrangements for death

3. Make contingency arrangements for periods of sickness and old age

4. Make contingency arrangements for passage to the next world.

Life is a passing phase and transitional. Its importance lies in the quality of good deeds during its span.

May we prioritize good deeds, avoid distractions, and trust in Allah's power and mercy.
